On the first floor, with private balcony, almost in contact with the lake, is the ‘Larius apartment’, a spacious(70 square meters) a luminous one bedroom apartment, with A/C in this enchanting 19th century building, which was once a luxury hotel.Situated on the lake road, running along the western shore of Lake Como, the ‘Larius apartment’ has a large open plan living area, you will love the private balcony for ‘al fresco’ dining, beautiful kitchen and dining area from which, when seated, all you can see is water from the windows over looking the lake. The comfortable bedroom has a king-size bed and leather finished furnishings. We have a brand new double sofa bed and there is a bathroom with ‘jacuzzi’ shower unit and also a utility room with washer and dryer.The apartment has a private balcony overlooking the lake, for relaxation and dining, there is also a public terrace area with lake views. The apartment has a private parking space inside the gated property. I will meet you on your arrival and show you around, make sure you understand how things work, I will explain how to get around on the lake and help you with any restaurant, tour bookings you might need. During your stay, I am always available in case you run into difficulty.The building is a beautiful gated building with private underground parking, situated on the boarder of the ancient village of Carate Urio, still unspoiled by modernization, keeping its old world feeling with characteristic streets and stepped lanes crossed by low bridges which join the century old (website hidden) fact many famous people have decided to make this area their own private paradise, for example Gianni Versace, whose beautiful villa is just 3 kms. south of the Lario apartment and also George Clooney’s, delightful lake side home is 1 km north in the village of Laglio.At the same time, it is very easy to reach from Milan’s airports and Como town, only 20 minutes drive away.The local bus stops directly outside the condo and the ferry stop is about 15 minutes walk away. There is also a private parking space for one car on the property. From the Milan airports, using public transport, there is the train to Milan, with a change you arrive at Como Lago Nord and then the ferry or bus to the apartment. In Tremezzo, just 20 minutes drive away, is the Villa carlotta with it’s very important botanical gardens and in Lenno, the Villa Balbianello, I really recommend a visit there, ask me for details, as I am a qualified guide. the villa was used for lots of films, such as ‘A month by the lake’, Star wars, the return of the clones, and the latest, Casino Royale, Switzerland is just across the mountains and Lake Lugano, although very different, is very beautiful and offers walks and (website hidden). Moritz, the jet set resort is a few hours north of the lake and I can offer you the possibility to ride on the Bernina express train, across glaciers to enjoy breathtaking views.
